The Nelson Tasman Chamber of Commerce Board is pleased to announce that it has appointed former Head of Jetstar New Zealand Grant Kerr to lead the chamber.
Grant has extensive business experience in a range of industries including three years as Head of Jetstar New Zealand which expanded significantly into regional centres under his leadership.
“He has worked with many regions across New Zealand, understands our region exceptionally well and is passionate about making our region an even better place to do business and to live,’’ Lees said.
Prior to taking up his role with Jetstar, Grant was General Manager of Air Nelson.
Lees paid tribute to the chamber’s operations manager Michelle McCree who has been acting chief executive for the last two months. “She chose not to apply for the role. We’re very grateful to her for stepping up in the interim, and to the small chamber team, for ensuring our business community continued to be well served during this transition period.”
Grant said he was looking forward to starting in his new role on February 7.
“The Nelson Tasman region is an exciting place to live. Having lived here for over 7 years, my goal is to work locally, share my experience with other organisations and engage with businesses to ensure they are well represented. Above all I want to ensure the region continues to prosper and grow by being a significant contributor,” Grant said.
The first chamber luncheon of 2017 on February 21 will be a chance for business owners and professionals to meet and engage with Grant. This event is open to members and non-members to attend. Register here
