About 70 businesspeople from all over the region attended the Chapman Employment Relations BA5 networking event where information packs were made available to those interested in entering this year’s awards.
Nicki Nicholas from Hop Federation told the audience about their experience of entering the awards (watch video). The judges feedback from the first time they entered was instrumental in building their business and taking it to that next level. That saw them win the Nelson Mail Start Up category in last year’s Business Awards. Nicki strongly encourage other businesses to give it a go because of the benefits that the awards can bring.
Chamber chief executive Dot Kettle said the entry process had changed this year to make it more achievable for businesses to become involved. She too encouraged businesses to get the ball rolling by completing the Stage One Entry Registration Form which can be submitted online.
The chamber has engaged one of last year’s Business Award winners, Louise Walsh, to support, promote and encourage businesses to enter. “These awards are a fantastic way for any business in our region to benchmark, showcase and celebrate their success.”
