Our Role

A key purpose of the Nelson Tasman Chamber of Commerce is to influence the best commercial environment in which you can achieve your business goals.

Advocacy and identifying key issues that affect businesses in the region is a core role for the Chamber.  We use our strong positive voice for business to influence the best commercial environment for businesses to achieve their goals.  We advocate on behalf of our members and in the interest of the region.  We make submissions to both local and central government on business related issues.  Make sure you have your say and are part of the Chamber.

We do this by giving business a “voice”.

We will be your advocate when you need us and can assist you in overcoming obstacles.

Our priorities for 2010 – 2011 are:

Prior to the 2010 Local Government Elections Chamber members identified key areas that required both Council’s support for a thriving diverse business community throughout the region. These were – regional cohesion and economic development; investment in critical infrastructure and support for tourism.
