Lion Foundation Young Enterprise Scheme; ‘Dragon’s Den’
When: Wednesday May 30th. 2012
Where: Theatre Royal, Rutherford street, Nelson
Time: Start at 4 PM finish approx. 8 PM (Pizza and drinks provided)
The Lion Foundation Young Enterprise Scheme (YES) is a business programme where secondary students (year 12 /13) set up a company, create real products or services, and make real profit or loss.
‘DRAGON’S DEN’
The oral presentations, which is the YES version of ‘The Dragon’s Den’ is where 13 teams / businesses make their pitch to a panel of outside judges made up from a cross section of accomplished local business people.
“The business teams, from Garin College, Nelson Boys, Nelson Girls and Golden Bay High, will have written their business plans and perhaps already trading and through their oral presentation aiming for high scores for their grades and regional awards. They will also be looking for an investment in their business from the judges. There will be a total of $ 2,000 up for grabs as well as advertising for the teams to ‘kick start’ their businesses” says regional coordinator Robert Panzer.
Each company has exactly five minutes to present and time for questions from the judges. The ‘Dragons’ will be from financial, local government, educational and business backgrounds.
The teams’ teachers, mentors and supporters are encouraged to attend as are all business people to hear and see young entrepreneurship in motion; innovative and creative ideas, passion and dedication displayed. Contact Robert Panzer yes@eda.co.nz

The attached presentation provides an overview of Food Hospitality World. This major international F&B trade fair is to be held in late November 2012 in the rapidly growing Guandong Province of China. It provides an opportunity for NZ F&B companies to make business connections and get “on the ground“ experience in the Pearl River Delta – the fastest growing province in China with GDP growth of 13%pa and a total GDP of a staggering US$2 trillion.
This is the first trade fair in Guangzhou to focus on international B2B opportunities in the F&B sector (including food processing).
It represents a good opportunity for a number of reasons:
ICCNZ is the only appointed agent for the fair, operating in New Zealand.
If you are interested in the limited spaces in the show available for New Zealand companies, or want further information, please contact, Gianfranco Ugazzi, Secretary General ICCNZ, email: secgen@iccnz.com.
