If you are a BNZ customer;
BNZ have put together a financial assistance package to help people and businesses affected by flood damage.
Essentially what this means for you is that should you require it, the money held in your term deposits may be broken out early (in part or full) and BNZ will waive the normal interest penalty (usually 2%). Or you may have access to $50,000 for a overdraft for 3 months (no fees, but interest on the overdraft will apply) contact your account manager directly for more information.

Recovery Assistance Centres in Nelson city and in Golden Bay
A recovery assistance centre will open at Work and Income, 22 Bridge Street Nelson and in the Pohara Hall, Pohara tomorrow. The centres will be open from 8.30am – 5pm until the end of the week. Here, people will be able to meet with representatives from:
• Work & Income
• EQC
• Inland Revenue
• Salvation Army
• And collect housing information

There is also a dedicated phone line for people wanting information about land stability. All residents from Nelson and Tasman can Phone (03) 543 8498 for assistance.
Slip line to report slips (03) 543 8498
Nelson and Tasman residents are asked to report any slips to the ‘Slipline,’ on 03 543 8498. The line is open seven days a week from 8am to 5pm. After hours, ring 111 if it is an emergency or ring your individual council.
